Billie Eilish Addresses Her Coming-out Moment

Billie Eilish shared that following the release of November’s ‘Power of Women’ issue, her fans, friends, and many others confused her.

I kind of thought, wasn’t it obvious? I didn’t realize people didn’t know,” she told Variety.

I just don’t really believe in it. I’m just like, why can’t we just exist? I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it.”

On being asked by Variety’s Tiana DeNicola, if; following the November cover story’s release, her perspective on how other women feel about her has changed or not.

Eilish replied, “I’m still scared of them, but I think they’re pretty!”

What She Previously Explained?

On the Nov. 13 cover story of the magazine, Eilish mentioned that she’s attracted to women. She said:

I’ve never really felt like I could relate to girls very well. I love them so much. I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them for real.”

She continued,

I have deep connections with women in my life, the friends in my life, the family in my life. I’m physically attracted to them. But I’m also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence.”

Eilish also detailed how she never felt like a woman. She added:

I’ve never felt like a woman, to be honest with you,” Eilish told Variety. “I’ve never felt desirable. I’ve never felt feminine.”

Elsewhere at the Variety event, Eilish was recognized for Film Song of the Year alongside her brother for their work on the Barbie song, What Was I Made For?
