But being friendly towards everyone and everything just might’ve made her a bit uncomfortable as Olsen couldn’t refuse a Marvel costume that made her feel extremely insecure, unlike her co-star from the franchise, Scarlett Johansson, who simply slammed down even the idea of her wearing the skimpy dress that was first offered to her for her role in an MCU movie.

Being the smart yet highly thoughtful personality she is, Elizabeth Olsen‘s kind behavior might’ve put her in some rather uncomfortable situations quite a few times. This includes the costume she had to wear for playing the Scarlett Witch in Avengers: Infinity War (2018).

Although pretty, Olsen felt that her dress showed quite a bit of cleavage. Sharing how she would love to tweak her outfit just a little for it to be appropriate and comfortable for her, she said,

“It would just not be a cleavage corset. I like corsets, but I’d like it to be higher. Everyone has these things that cover them—Tessa Thompson does, Scarlett does. I would like to cover up a bit. It’s funny because sometimes I look around and I’m just like—wow, I’m the only one who has cleavage, and that’s a constant joke because they haven’t really evolved my superhero costume that much.”

The WandaVision star further went on to share her take on all the superhero costumes as a whole. She said,

“I think of the costumes and what we have to wear—it’s more about iconic images because that’s what these movies are… I think that’s the goal with the costumes, and it’s not representing the average woman.”

In a nutshell, despite finding her dress to be uncomfortable, Elizabeth Olsen just couldn’t find it in herself to say ‘no’ to it, unlike Scarlett Johansson, who simply refused to put on a skimpy costume for the Marvel movie.

Unlike Elizabeth Olsen, Scarlett Johansson Refused To Wear Skimpy Outfit Designed For Her

While Elizabeth Olsen is rather kind and considerate, her co-star Scarlett Johansson feels that she needs to speak up when she feels uncomfortable. Like when she was offered a skimpy costume for Captain America 2. Sharing her take on the dress, Johansson said,

“In some [ways] I look at it as a costume she was wearing — at the time, Marvel was interested in the character being a shape-shifter. When we were doing Captain America: The Winter Soldier — this is a really funny thing — the look is fantastic and utilitarian. She first drives up in this beautiful car and picks up Cap, and initially, in the script, it was like, she arrives in her tennis whites, with a blonde wig. It was very quickly killed.”

Nonetheless, as soon as Scarlett Johansson declared that the dress was off-limits for her, it was quickly changed to something more appropriate and decent for her character. Way to go, ScarJo!
