Jeremy Renner starred in several of the Mission: Impossible films as well as in the 2012 film The Bourne Legacy. Having a plethora of movies to his name, Renner also portrays the iconic character of Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Well, with commitments and roles, there was a time when Renner was consecutively attached to three big projects. Tiring himself endlessly, Jeremy Renner revealed that he was exhausted and he still had to do The Avengers.
When Jeremy Renner Was Tired From All The Work
It was indeed a tiring experience when Jeremy Renner was working on the 2008 film titled Super 8. The actor recalled to MTV News that while he was talking to J.J. Abrams about Super 8, the director asked him what his thoughts were about the Mission: Impossible franchise.
When Renner gave an answer, J.J. Abrams asked him “Do you want to go meet Tom [Cruise] right now?” and that led to a meeting with Cruise at Paramount Studios. Cruise tried to convince Jeremy Renner to take the role and join the Mission: Impossible franchise. But what seemed to take the cake was when Cruise called Renner on his home phone and pitched even harder for the film!
“It was a strange experience and an interesting meeting. And by the time I get home on my motorcycle, I get off my helmet, and the phone rings, and it’s Tom calling me at my house. I’m like, ‘That’s weird, Tom Cruise is calling me at home’…. So he’s like, ‘Are we doing this? Come on, are we doing it?’ So now all of a sudden I’m signed on to do three Mission: Impossible movies with Tom.”
Who would’ve thought that after his contract with Tom Cruise for the Mission: Impossible franchise, he was also offered the role of Aaron Cross in the 2012 film The Bourne Legacy. And he yet had to finish shooting The Avengers.
Jeremy Renner Also Had To Shoot The Avengers
With Renner in the Mission: Impossible franchise, Matt Damon decided to not star in the 2012 film The Bourne Legacy. Ultimately the role was offered to Jeremy Renner. Talking about it to MTV News, the actor revealed that he was exhausted by that time.
“I get a call — ‘They’re looking to do another Bourne’. I’m like, ‘Well yeah, it’s awesome, but now?… I’m tired! I still have to do The Avengers! Why didn’t you come to me first with that?”
Eventually, the actor did star in all three franchises and was adored more by the world. The actor has been on a break since his snow plow accident and he seems to be recovering quite well as the world prays for him.
