Nia DaCosta is directing the upcoming MCU flick The Marvels. She is only one film old (2021’s Candyman) and she had no experience directing a big-budget studio film. She is also the youngest filmmaker/director working on an MCU film.

Thus, her lead star Brie Larson provided a lot of tips and directions on the workings of a Marvel set and helped her leave her mark as a director on the film. She told Gamesradar+,

“Brie’s done it before. There was actually this really funny day; she and Teyonah were in my office and Brie’s, like, laying on the couch, hands behind her head and she was like, ‘Here’s how it’s gonna go, here’s what’s happening. Don’t worry’. She was basically just like, ‘We’re all gonna get through this. It’s gonna be great, but here are some tips for how to bend and not break’ sort of thing.'”
