Touching upon the very speculations of Henry Cavill’s entry into the MCU, John Rocha and Jeff Sneider discuss the same during their The Hot Mic podcast. With Sneider claiming that the report is 100% speculation, the duo further proceed to discuss why Captain Britain isn’t suitable for Cavill. Instead, they pitch him for a popular Marvel villain.

Speculations of Henry Cavill Joining Marvel Studios

After Henry Cavill disappointed his fans by bidding adieu to his DC role as Superman and his popular character Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, the actor started making headlines for his rumored appearance in MCU. The whole speculation started after scooper account MyTimeToShineHello shared the news of Cavill supposedly joining MCU.

Considering his experience in playing comic books and fictional characters with years of training in action sequences, fans started believing that Henry Cavill might really be joining Marvel Studios. Further, as Marvel announced the main cast for Fantastic Four and it was rumored that Doctor Doom would be appearing for a brief period in the film, fans started wondering if Cavill signed for the role of the villain.

Few fans even went curious to know if Henry Cavill was joining MCU as Captain Britain after he was repeatedly fancast as the comic book character. Considering the fact that Cavill previously played a similar role in DC, netizens began claiming that the actor would be perfect to play Captain Britain. But amid such speculations and comments, neither Marvel Studios nor the actor confirmed the veracity of the report.

Industry Insider Pitch Henry Cavill for Marvel Villain

Therefore, after the speculations from MyTimeToShineHello took over the internet, John Rocha and Jeff Sneider touched upon the supposed news during their appearance on The Hot Mic podcast. Three minutes into the conversation, Rocha asked Sneider if he would like to discuss rumors and reports surrounding Henry Cavill, to which the latter agreed and the discussion began.

The duo addressed the rumor spread by scooper account MyTimeToShineHello, and Jeff Sneider noted that it’s 100% speculation, for he hasn’t heard anything as such. “I don’t know where that report is coming from, although I buy it,” Sneider noted. Claiming that it could be true, considering the fact that someone like Henry Cavill needs hit flicks, and since there are only so many guaranteed hit projects, Sneider noted that he could join the MCU.

Discussing which roles would be fit for Henry Cavill, since he has got only one chance to find the perfect role in MCU, Jeff Sneider hinted that he could be eyeing the role of Wolverine. During the discussion, John Rocha asks if Cavill fits in the role of Cyclops, to which Sneider says that it’s not as big of a role for a star like Cavill. While discussing several such popular roles that could offer the actor the spotlight he deserves, Rocha pitches Cavill for Doctor Doom.

Captain Britain is part of a whole team… so it puts you as a team as opposed to necessarily a standout. And I think, if you’re Henry Cavill you wanna grab something that’s yours and you can make your own. Doctor Doom could be really interesting… as the main baddie, you’re in multiple films, that seems to be more attractive.” Rocha pitched.

Following the conversation, there seems to be a weightage to what John Rocha pitched.  Especially since Henry Cavill previously played a similar role to that of Captain Britain in DC, and moreover, since it’s a team role, Doctor Doom appears as the perfect role for the actor. Since it’s all speculation and nothing has been confirmed, fans have to wait for a while to know the veracity of the reports.
