The latest episode in the Insider series gave players a look at what players can expect in the game after the main campaign. The developer revealed that the game will get new content in the form of Seasons with Season One starting in March sometime and will bring new playable environments, missions, activities, playable Joker, weapons, and more.

The developer also added that three additional Seasons have been planned for the game for the year and Seasons will have episodes. It has also been revealed that the content will be available for free to players owning the game and only cosmetics will be available in the in-game shop.

Although it is clear that the free post-launch content for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is to make up for the game’s criticism, it seems to have worked in favor of the developers. Players are excited to see a playable Joker coming to the game, that too for free, and while they were initially planning to pass on the game, many might have changed their minds.

Season One will be adding Joker as a playable character.

A user took to the SuicideSquadGaming subreddit saying that they had planned to not get the game but the Joker gameplay reveal has changed their mind, adding that “he looks cool and the playstyle looks fun.” Several other users agreed that they too had no intention of getting the game but the Insider video has changed their perception and Rocksteady has been able to pull them in.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has faced criticism for its live-service format and while the developer has avoided calling the game live-service it has not escaped the backlash. Players have also called out developers for making Poison Ivy a child character and even Brainiac’s design has been slammed. The alpha of the game also did not impress players and was called boring and players were expecting it to bomb upon release.

However, the developer’s recent attempts to pull the players seem to have paid off as players are now interested in playing the game and maybe it could still make it out. The Joker coming to the game has only given that attempt a push and players are now more invested and are speculating what the game could bring in the next Seasons and how would it keep things fresh.

Not many games that have faced so much criticism ever since the announcement and numerous delays have been able to impress players and given that this is a live-service game, it is going to be a real uphill battle for Rocksteady. However, if anyone can do it, it is Rocksteady and prove to players that they were wrong to judge so quickly.
