Invincible Season 2 had a bunch of guest cameos from acclaimed voice actors, such as Peter Cullen, known for his work with Optimus Prime, being the voice of the coalition’s leader Thaddeus. There were also cameos from Shantel VanSanten (Becca from The Boys) as Anissa and Calista Flockhart (Cat Grant from CW’s Supergirl) as April Howsam. The show has another super-hero television alum in its ranks who is yet to make an appearance: Chloe Bennet (Quake from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D).
The actress is yet to make an appearance in the show, and there are a lot of options left for her to make her cameo. In Episode 7, a lot of things happened. The Immortal has been temporarily benched, and the Guardians of the Globe are still two members down. As Shrinking Rae remains under intensive care and Dupli-Kate is still very dead, The Guardians of the Globe is going to require some more members to fill its ranks, and one character might be right in Chloe Bennet’s ballpark.
The Guardians of the Globe could once again have a speedster come Chloe Bennet
After Omni-Man slaughtered the original Guardians of the Globe, which included a host of Justice League expys like Aquarius (Aquaman), War Woman (Wonder Woman), Green Ghost (Green Lantern), and Red Rush (The Flash), the team was not restored with a speedster.
However, Cecil would be hard-pressed to find new recruits for its team after the death of Dupli-Kate. The pickings are slim with Invincible and Atom-Eve refusing to join the team again, The Immortal being on a temporary vacation and Shrinking Rae still stuck in the ICU.
Given that Chloe Bennet will make an appearance in the final episode of Invincible, it is quite possible that the actress will play a new member of the Guardians. In this case, the character that she would be playing could be Outrun, the speedster who ends up joining the Guardians of the Globe later in the story.
Cecil Stedman might want to figure out a permanent solution for the Guardians of the Globe- without Invincible
The Guardians of the Globe falling apart seems to be a running joke in Invincible. With future generations of the team being nowhere as competent as the one that fought Omni-Man, Cecil might be hard-pressed to disband the group, given that newer recruits of the team have proved to be brave, but nowhere in the ballpark of the threats that they face.
Bulletproof and Black Samason are perhaps the last remaining strain of competent members in the team, while characters like Monster Girl, Rex Plode, and Robot fail to be competent in the field again and again. While they are great heroes when they work alone, these characters do not have what it takes to run a team.
Stedman needs heroes who can work as a cohesive group, and focus on solutions to problems that they are faced with. Above all, Cecil needs to assemble a team that has the ability to actually save people, rather than just fight villains. Had the original Guardians of the Globe been there when Mark fought Omni-Man, the team would have been much more effective in fighting Nolan and also would have reduced the damage the fight did to the infrastructure of the country.
