There are many ways in which Invincible has been described by fans. For those who wish to boil the story down to an elevator pitch, the go-to analogy is often ‘Superman by way of Spider-Man‘. Given how much of a fan of the superhero genre Robert Kirkman, when the writer was given the chance to get Spider-Man to meet Invincible, he was not going to keep it.
In Issue 14 of the 2005 run of Marvel Team-Up, Invincible, thanks to Armstrong Levy, finds himself in an alternate universe, which just happens to be the mainline 616 universe of the Marvel brand. Invincible is being cycled by Armstrong Levy through alternate universes, where he hopes Mark will be weakened. As this happens, Levy has also taken Mark’s mother hostage, who is still reeling from Omni-Man’s violent departure from the planet.

Will we see Spider-Man make an appearance in Invincible Season 2?
While crossovers are really common in comics (so much so that there is an entire universe of Marvel and DC characters merged together), it is much harder to do such crossovers in big properties on television or the internet. While it is completely possible that the Spider-Man arc could be completely cut from the show, it is also possible that the crossover could be still in place, just with a bunch of derivative, copyright-friendly characters than the actual ones who appeared in Marvel Comics.
However, if some deal is worked out between Marvel and Amazon, such that Spider-Man and all the characters that appear in the issue (such as Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine, and such) can appear in the show, it is highly likely that the characters that appear in the show might be more in line with any of Spider-Man’s animated properties than any of his live-action appearances. From Avengers Assemble to Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, everything might be on the table if this is the route MArvel ends up taking. Further, Marvel Studios could have a say in the matter, promoting Marvel’s new animation wing via this crossover.

What other cameos does Armstrong Levy cause in Invincible
Amstrong Levy puts Mark Grayson through quite the ringer throughout the multiverse. While Levy sends Invincible through a number of multiverses to weaken him, the character also inadvertently starts the Invincible War, a crossover event that sees the heroes of this world fight a host of alternative Mark Grayson, all of whom have embraced their Viltrumite heritage in one way or the other. Fighting on the frontlines are some of Image Comics’ biggest names, such as Spawn (whom Mark claims he has killed before), Sara Pezzini from Witchblade, and Savage Dragon, among others. Given that these are distinct properties (much like Science Dog, Seance Dog‘s original version in the comics), it is possible that we will see expies here too instead of the actual characters themselves.
While jumping across the multiverse Mark Grayson not only meets Spider-Man but also another street-level vigilante from another superhero universe. While hopping across the multiverse, a planet in the issue depicts an arm covered in a peculiar black glove with serrated protrusions on it. Mark comments on this character wheres the costume of a bat, before writing off the conversation as something he doesn’t want to repeat, given he had the same conversation with Spider-Man
