The Game Won’t Draw Inspiration From Roger Moore’s Portrayal

The magazine reported that there are possibilities that the game will feature a reminiscent tone of Daniel Craig’s interpretation of the character rather than being inclined towards Roger Moore’s portrayal. Besides, the game could offer a more structured gameplay experience compared to other open-ended missions seen in the Hitman series.

The report also hinted that the game could emphasize spy gadgets, which could mean that the studio wants to do away from the assassination-based gameplay to differentiate it from the Agent 47 series.

The magazine wrote (via GamesRadar):

“The few other breadcrumbs we’re able to pick up in the office suggest a tone closer to Daniel Craig than Roger Moore, and perhaps a more scripted experience than Hitman’s freeform jaunts. It’s been pitched as ‘the ultimate spycraft fantasy,’ which suggests gadgets – and perhaps a step away from the murderous objectives of Agent 47.”

However, don’t expect too much from the Daniel Craig reference, as IO Interactive has already confirmed that the game won’t be tied to a particular actor. Instead, Project 007 will come with the studio’s unique digital version of the character, drawing inspiration from the entire series. Going by the job posting from 2021, it seems the game will be a third-person action game, something similar to IO’s previous offering, Hitman.

Moreover, IO Interactive also has another game in the works, which has no connections to Agent 47 or Project 007. Interestingly, it’s an online fantasy RPG. The studio announced the game at the beginning of this year, so fans shouldn’t expect much information right now.

As for the directorial duties, Christopher Nolan, famous for his works in The Dark Knight trilogy and most recent success, Oppenheimer, has expressed his willingness to helm a James Bond project.

The producer of James Bond, Barbara Broccoli, said that the search for the next Bond has already started; however, given the franchise’s popularity, it’s just a matter of days before the next lead is announced.
