Borderlands has become a very good and rentable franchise. Gearbox Saga had a couple of well-received games with players, and critics praise the gameplay and beautiful character development. One of the best things about Borderlands are the bizarre situations and character dialogue.
Claptrap is one perfect example of this. The main games of the series have three entries; the last one launched back in 2019. Now, thanks to a very strange social media post, Gearbox could announce a new game soon.
Borderlands has a new project ahead, it seems
As always, Borderlands has managed to present new projects from the franchise in the most entertaining ways. This time, Gearbox, and the official X page of Borderlands uploaded a video with a recap of the story of the games so far. Without any more information, this 1:42-minute clip shows us all the story of the main games. The clip ends, and no details are specified. They obviously want this video to go viral and for fans and players to start asking questions about this video that appeared out of nowhere.
People began to reply, and all kinds of questions were asked without any answer. Borderlands 3 was launched back in 2019, so almost five years have passed since the last main Borderlands.
A new entry is very possible if you have development time in mind; more than 4 years are enough. After Borderlands 3, the last spin-off launched was Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands back in 2022. Since then, Gearbox has not announced any new games.
The Borderlands franchise has a lot to offer
Fans will have to wait for this new possible game that may happen. Borderlands social accounts are being very cryptic about this. But this video could mean several things: a new game in the franchise, a remake of the first three games, or at least the first two.
Because the third one had a current generation update, so it is not that possible for a remake of the third game to make sense. This announcement looks imminent, so it’s a matter of time. Borderlands 4 has more sense for the time that has passed since the last game.
As for the Borderlands name, a movie from this game has already been filmed and will launch this year in the last few months of the year. This film has Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Jack Black as Claptrap, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, and a very incredible cast that will give life to these particular characters. No trailer has been shown, but we could have more information very soon.
