Therefore, it’s no wonder for many when Netflix confirmed a live-action adaptation of the series last year, stating that scripting was already in progress.

After that, an update on IMDb reportedly showed the main cast of the live-action adaptation of My Hero Academia. The information came out of nowhere, as Netflix has not given any kind of update since the project was greenlit.

Not long after the rumors began circulating, the majority of the cast names were removed from the IMDb page. Only David Mazouz and Isaac Hempstead Wright were there on the list that appeared lately. If this is not just limited to rumors then weebs would be excited to watch a DC star as an anime character.

One of the most exciting pieces of information to come out is that David Mazouz, who is best known for his role as Bruce Wayne in Gotham is rumored to be cast as Izuku Midoriya. Anyways, we are not counting the fact that fans didn’t like him as Bruce Wayne, even though Mazouz has played a phenomenal part in Gotham

It is also reported that Isaac Hempstead, who played Brandon Stark in Game of Thrones, is playing Iida Tenya in the live adaptation of My Hero Academia. An anime-centric Twitter account called TOKANIM (or Tokanim_FR) showcased the removed cast picks to its followers.

The TOKANIM’s list also shows the cast include Jace Norman, Graham Verchere, and Isabel Gameros for the role of Bakugo, Shoto, and Ochaco respectively.

Netflix and Legendary Entertainment announced their collaboration last year on a live-action My Hero Academia movie. The film will be written by Joby Harolds, with Shinsuke Sato as the director of the film. It is expected to adapt the original story of the series My Hero Academia itself which gives the insight of the lead character Izuku Midoriya and his story as a student at U.A. Academy.

It is very plausible the film will cover the events of the first season, and given the news of the casting, potentially the events of the second season as well. By the way, it’s already said that Netflix has not revealed any details about this live-action adaptation, so fans are requested to take the information with a grain of salt.
