Oscar-winning actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence starred alongside an ensemble cast of the 2021 comedy film Don’t Look Up. Respectively starring as an astronomy professor and his student, the movie follows them warning the world about an approaching comet that could destroy planet Earth. The cast of the film was praised for its performance, and it landed four Oscar nominations at the 94th Academy Awards.
However, filming the movie became quite distressing for the X-Men star. While Lawrence lost a tooth, his co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio, was horrified witnessing her snorting her nose ring and spitting it out.

Starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Adam McKay’s 2021 movie Don’t Look Up, Jennifer Lawrence portrayed an astronomy student in the movie. And the actress made sure to adapt to her character. She explained that she wanted her character to be fierce and added accessories like nose rings and a wig.
However, one of these later became the reason for embarrassing moments for the actress. During her appearance on Hot Ones, the Mother star recounted some of the most “distressing moments” while filming Don’t Look Up with the Titanic star.
The actress explained that she had multiple such occurrences on the set, and coincidentally they happened around DiCaprio. She has shared that many times, she inhaled the magnet nose ring she was wearing as Kate Dibiasky and had to spit it out. And her co-star was horrified after he witnessed the same.
“You don’t want to go [makes hurling gesture and noises] spit something that just got snorted through your sinuses,” she said before adding, “And Leo was like, ‘Is that? What is that?’” Lawrence shared that it was “embarrassing” for her. However, this was not the only awkward thing that happened to her while filming the 2021 black comedy film.
Jennifer Lawrence Lost Her Tooth While Filming
Jennifer Lawrence had several mishaps while filming her 2021 film. Further into her interview at Hot Ones, she shared that snorting and spitting out her nose ring in front of Leonardo DiCaprio was not the only embarrassing thing that happened to her on the set of Don’t Look Up.
Talking about another incident, she said, “It wasn’t just one tooth. Because I have veneers, I had a whole section missing.” It happened during the early stages of filming, and the Joy star explained that she couldn’t visit the dentist due to the pandemic.
And she had to do the whole movie with a “gaping hole” in her mouth. “So I guess I would say the missing tooth,” she said, stating the most distressing moment on the set of the 2021 Adam McKay movie. The actress also reportedly suffered an injury from a glass in an on-set incident.
