X-Men: First Class from 2011 is unarguably one of the most entertaining films from the X-Men film series. With its engaging writing and incredibly commendable performances, the Michael Fassbender starrer was an easy hit among most of the fans and critics from the fanbase. But the final cut wasn’t what was originally intended to reach the screens.

Just like pretty much every other movie, this film also underwent a lot of snipping as well, and in the meanwhile, wounded up losing what would have been one of the best scenes of the entire saga. This is because the moment would have featured the commonly known vengeful and cruel Magneto putting on a woman’s dress — something you definitely don’t see every day!

One Cut Scene in First Class Featured Michael Fassbender in Drag

Though there were quite a few deleted scenes in X-Men: First Class, perhaps none comes as close to one of the most iconic moments in the saga as the one featuring Michael Fassbender in drag. Yes, you read it right because the then-33-year-old actor actually agreed to dress in women’s clothing for one scene which, unfortunately, couldn’t even make its way to the screens.

This happens when his character Erik Lehnsherr, along with James McAvoy‘s Charles Xavier, decides to sift through people to come across other different mutants who could join their special school and help them fulfill their mission. During this, the first one they approach is none other than Zoë Kravitz’s Angel Salvadore, as was seen in the movie.

After meeting her, Fassbender tries to get Zoë Kravitz‘s mutant to show them her powers by initially showing her his powers. This he does by lifting the ice bucket seated next to him on the side table, immediately catching Angel’s attention and getting her to show them her wings. But this scene had more to it, thanks to Charles’ incredible powers.

In this deleted scene, recently reshared by @penguin_editing on Instagram, while Angel is looking in fascination at the duo, McAvoy’s Professor X decides to get into her head to mentally swap Fassbender’s Magneto’s suit into a blue woman’s dress along with a short-hair wig. Looking at this, Angel irresistible bursts out laughing, and so does Charles.

To this, an inevitably confused Erik sipping at his drink looks at Charles and then Angel with a questioning look on his face asks, “What?” while Angel asks Charles how he managed to do that. Quickly swapping his clothes back while responding to his question, McAvoy then responds while trying to hold back his laughter, “You’ve never looked more beautiful, darling.”

Unarguably enough, this would have been one of the most hilarious and equally wholesome scenes from the movie, had it been included. However, due to reasons unknown, it eventually ended up facing the cutting room floor, and now fans can’t help but express just how badly they were robbed in this particular masterpiece from 2011.

Of course, this scene would have been one of the most iconic scenes in the entire movie, had it been included. That said, fans can’t help but express disappointment at just how badly the creators robbed them of this true gem of a moment. Taking to the comment section of the Instagram post, here’s what those fans are saying:

Of course, Michael Fassbender must have had to go through quite a bit just for this particular scene, dressing up in women’s clothing, a wig, and whatnot. And then the people behind the lens decide that they simply don’t want to keep this take anymore? Well, that’s a shame, for sure, and all these fan reactions are only further proof of it.
