What makes a famous video game franchise viable in the long run is the consistency of new installments and a refresh of already existing IPs. Unfortunately, none of that has ever happened with Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Bloodborne, a game that came out back in 2015, and has left fans hanging ever since.
While the chances of a sequel to the title coming out are really slim, what fans can hope FromSoftware to deliver is a remake of the game. This is something Miyazaki can make happen, as new hardware, i.e. the PlayStation 5 brings with itself new limits to cross with development. That is exactly what the renowned director talked about in his interview via Eurogamer.
Hidetaka Miyazaki Talks About A Potential Remake Of Bloodborne
The renowned director has already mentioned how Bloodborne is a title he and the studio hold very dear to themselves. With the fans’ requests growing every single day, the director was asked about his opinion on making a remake of the game, to which Hidetaka Miyazaki mentioned-
“I think having new hardware is definitely a part of what gives these remakes value, things you weren’t able to achieve on previous generations of hardware, ways you weren’t able to render specific expressions, [new hardware] sometimes makes it possible. However, I wouldn’t say that’s the be all and end all, I think purely from a user perspective, modern hardware also allows more players to appreciate all the games. And so, it ends up being a simple reason“
The renowned director talked about how the new hardware allows for making a few things happen in the game that would never have been possible before. This specifically includes how some render-specific expressions could not have been made possible on previous generations of the console but can potentially be done on Sony’s latest PlayStation 5. This could be what motivates him to finally make a remake of Bloodborne.
Unfortunately, the statement by Miyazaki remains just a potential hint at a remake of the game, and not a proper confirmation if the studio will be actually starting development on the project or not. Till then, fans will have to do with the upcoming Bloodborne Live-Action film, which is potentially on its way to committing a rookie mistake.
Why The Upcoming Bloodborne Live-Action Movie Might Be On Its Way To Commit A Grave Mistake
It has already been revealed that the studio responsible for making the live-action movie is eyeing Bill Skarsgård in the lead role, along with Adam Wingard as the director. The precise issue with the movie is how it is potentially going to be like other live-action adaptations of video games, where it will fails to go over the lore of the title.
What we are talking about is the fact that the live-action adaptations of video games often tend to just package the already existing gameplay and its mechanics in just another form for the audience to watch. This should be replaced with focusing on the lore aspects, as mentioned before, as it will give depth to the series and will be something that players haven’t already experienced before.
