Looks like Stranger Things is gearing up for its end as David Harbour confirmed Season 5 to be the finale. The show has been one of the most popular on the streaming platform and amassed a huge fan base over the years. It started in 2016 and took no time to attract widespread buzz for its unique storyline. However, it is all set to meet its conclusion with the fifth season.
Stranger Things focuses on the story of the small fictional town of Hawkins and its connection with an alternate dimension termed The Upside Down. The show is known for its horror, sci-fi, and mysterious story featuring a group of young children who become an integral part of this saga.
Will Season 5 be the last of Stranger Things?
Besides the premise, another primary factor that makes Stranger Things so exciting is its iconic characters. From Jim Hopper to Eleven, and the fan favorite Steve Harrington, this show has delivered some of the most memorable Television Series characters. According to the Jim Hopper fame David Harbour, the fifth season is reported to be their last outing together.
David Harbour says ‘STRANGER THINGS’ Season 5 is a “real ending. Stranger Things will end in a very real way.”
“Netflix is gonna do spin-offs… but the storyline where we started in the lab and Upside Down is one complete story.”

Even though David Harbour confirmed that the storyline that started with the first season and the whole Upside Down saga “is one complete story”, the makers will continue making spin-offs. This makes us wonder if Netflix plans to have its own MCU-esque plan to start a Stranger Things universe.
A bunch of spin-offs were already reported to be in development though, we don’t have much update on them yet. Besides a live-action spin-off, talks are also there of an animated spin-off set in the same universe. On the other hand, there was also a rumor of a Stranger Things: Tokyo anime series. It will be interesting to see if this animated spin-off is that rumored anime.

David Harbour is excited about the fifth season
David Harbour gained widespread appreciation for his role as the Hawkins police chief, Jim Hopper. He also boasts of a large number of fans who root for him. According to the Black Widow actor, he is all set to give his character the payoff he always dreamt of. The character went through a lot since the show started and deserves a grand farewell in the concluding season.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, David Harbour spoke about his excitement regarding Season 5.
“I’m excited to give him (Jim Hopper) the finale that I’ve wanted to give him since we started. I just love it so much, I just can’t wait to pour my heart into it. We’re gonna work as hard and as fast as possible to get it to people, because we know they love the show as much as we do. It’s really exciting stuff, the script is good.”
Shawn Levy, who has directed some episodes and is known for producing the show reported that the final outing will be a teary-eyed journey for the fans. It looks like the prayers for Steve Harrington’s survival will once again pick a surge. Noah Schnapp’s Will Byers is also set to be an important part of the finale as it shouldn’t be forgotten that the show also started with him.
However, it can’t be denied that Netflix is known for great shows but not many great endings. So it will be interesting to see if Stranger Things can be one of the best shows ever.
