Chris Hemsworth has done his fair share of good and great movies. To balance it out, the actor starred in Taika Waititi’s 2022 movie Thor: Love and Thunder. With bad CGI effects and weak humor to accompany, the movie was true, one of the failures of Phase 4 of the MCU.

Well, that is what the people thought of the movie until now. The Extraction actor Chris Hemsworth publicly stated what people thought of the movie. Calling it “cringe” and “too silly”, the actor regretted ever starring in it.

Chris Hemsworth Calls His Own Movie “Cringe”

With a rating of 6.2/10 on IMDB, Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder was hailed as one of the worst Marvel movies ever made. Although Chris Hemsworth starred in the movie and did not have any negative comments during its release, it wasn’t for long that the actor was able to keep quiet.

In an interview with GQ, the actor joked that everyone was a critique of movies now. Recalling that his neighbor’s kids would come up and offer their review of the movie, Hemsworth stated that they were indeed having too much fun. Calling his own movie cringe and laughing at it, the Extraction actor finally became candid about his thoughts on Thor: Love and Thunder.

“It’s a bunch of eight-year-olds critiquing my film. ‘We thought this one had too much humour, the action was cool but the VFX weren’t as good’. I cringe and laugh equally at it.”

He further added,

“I think we just had too much fun. It just became too silly. It’s always hard being in the centre of it and having any real perspective… I love the process, it’s always a ride. But you just don’t know how people are going to respond.”

It wasn’t just Chris Hemsworth who cringed at his own film. Legendary actor Christian Bale also stated that the green-screen acting felt very monotonous to him after the shooting ended.

With the upcoming movie all set to break television screens with its amazing action, Hemsworth is also excited about the release of Extraction 2. In an interview, the actor talked about what’s new in the film and how they delved deep into the backstory of the protagonist.

“It’s tricky to carry on with a character and not explain his past. So much of the first film was about Rake and the young boy he was rescuing. We touched a little bit on his backstory and this new film gave us an opportunity to really dig into that and find out why he is the way he is.”

With action-heavy scenes and an equally attractive protagonist, Extraction 2 is set for a release date of 16th June 2023 on Netflix. The Taika Waititi-directed, Thor: Love and Thunder is available to stream on Disney+.
