Loki Producer Revealed Why Balder the Brave Was In The Show
Loki fans have witnessed the Easter Eggs revolving around the Norse Hero Balder the Brave and it has created a huge discussion online. As fans were in the discussion the executive producer of Loki Kevin Wright spoke with Screen Rant and revealed the reason behind it.
“I think so much of the fun of that joke anyway is it just feels like Balder has been erased from history a bit. And so getting to do that joke and then put him up there and Loki is the one being erased from the history of this Norse mythology, Asgardian mythology, just felt like a fun flip. So in a way, them not being able to do it kind of cleared the ground for us that set up that little gag,” Wright told the outlet.
Earlier, Balder the Brave was rumored to appear on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and James Bond star Daniel Craig was supposed to play the titular hero. “No, and had that happened in Multiverse of Madness, we probably wouldn’t have done it,” Wright added. But that never happened, yet, Balder’s potential future appearance with such Easter Eggs definitely enhances the hype among fans.
Kevin Wright Revealed His Favorite Time Travel Jump
Right from the beginning of the Loki season 2, fans have seen that Loki has been constantly thrown into different places of different eras. The mention of Balder the Brave happened when he and Mobius visited the era, 1893. But Wright has his own pick, he revealed his favorite era to drop those characters into. “I mean, the obvious one is that ep 3, going to Chicago World’s Fair,” he told Screen Rant.
“It’s such a departure and it isn’t just say … We’ve popped into fun places for sequences in various episodes, that we get to live there for a full episode. It felt like we were almost making a different movie when we got to go shoot it. But they’ve all been really fun and I think there’s something fun about going to Broxton, Oklahoma. I think there’s something fun about carving out this quiet little life for Sylvie that’s small and quaint and it’s just such a stark difference from the apocalypses that she’s been growing up in.”
Of course, “they’ve all been fun,” he continued. “But I mean that World’s Fair, getting to do that for a full episode, for everybody, I think was really fun,” he added.
