As the news of alleged buildups, rumored castings, and potential storylines continue to fly about the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future projects, including Avengers: Secret Wars, the anticipation among fans continues to rise as well. And now after the release of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Season 2, more rumors have come forth about how it would be impacting the timeline.
While fans continue to anticipate and rumors continue to fly around, Kevin Wright, executive producer of Loki, revealed some exciting details about the show, and how it would be impacting the bigger picture in a recent interview.
Kevin Wright Reveals Exciting Details About Loki And Avengers: Secret Wars
With the Loki Season 2 release, a lot of things are expected to make sense and potential storyline direction will be revealed soon as well. As the series continues to air, the hype is getting more real and bigger. However, there is the question of whether or not, and if yes, how would Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki affect the MCU’s storyline and what relationship it has with Avengers: Secret Wars.
In a recent interview with the Phase Zero podcast, the executive producer of the show, Kevin Wright, had some details to share. While he shared the potential the series holds, the producer also stated,
“As we were developing (Loki), we were kind of like, ‘Oh, in a broad sense, it would be really cool if the coming phases also ran through Loki and his choices, but in a different, unexpected way.’ It always, I mean those are kind of like broad discussions, but we always are focusing in on just what we’re doing and try not to get too bogged down by the bigger picture. If we tell our story really well, the rest of the MCU will embrace it.”
Thus, this confirms that Loki would definitely have a major connection with Avengers: Secret Wars, for it was the Loki variant Sylvie who unleashed the ‘madness of the multiverse’ by killing Kang the Conqueror in the first place.
Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Variant Is Also A Catalyst For Future MCU Storylines
The first variant of Kang the Conqueror, the next ultimate villain in the MCU timeline, was killed by Sophia Di Martino‘s Sylvie in season 1 of Loki. The event generated sort of a chain reaction, with the whole timeline breaking up, unleashing chaos and madness that is bound to get worse in the coming projects.
While the Loki variant certainly had a lot of credit for being the one to further the theme of multiverse and time travel, it is but natural to ask whether she would play any role in Avengers: Secret Wars or other projects. In response to the comment that Hiddleston’s Loki is a catalyst for the future, Kevi Wright stated,
“Sylvie has a lot of responsibility in that too, by the way, with what she’s done with the Multiverse…”
Thus, once again confirming that Loki Season 2 is certainly laying the groundwork for future projects including Avengers: Secret Wars and potentially Deadpool 3.
