Rockstar Games must be keeping its nose to the grindstone as the GTA 6 release date comes closer, though there’s no official announcement for the launch. Fans are curious about the game, and that’s fair given that its predecessor, GTA 5, came out about eleven years ago. It sold over 195 million copies alone globally.
It’s a long shot, but the publisher must be hoping to break this record. Too many leaks (literally) by one sneaky Mr. Arion Kurtaj already caused havoc among the company and the community last year. Thankfully, nothing of such a scale happened except for internet sleuths skulking around to get whatever they may find to deploy it as rumors that sparked conversations.
This Should Confirm the Potential GTA 6 Release Date
Interestingly, this time it is Rockstar Games itself that might have provided a potential GTA 6 release date to the audience. And as was expected, it again sparked a hearty debate over the topic. The company recently posted a job listing on its official careers page.
The position is for a Russian localization tester, which will be a year-long contract for whoever’s selected. It may have given the fans a little idea as to when they should expect the game to be released. One shouldn’t simply calculate the timeframe provided in the job posting, as more testing could be needed for touch-ups following the completion of the game’s development.
Considering this, fans may expect it to be released late in 2025. It’s the little things that might be hiding big details that people could miss in the blink of an eye. One of the fan theories surfacing on the internet last year suggested that the company may have teased the game’s release date in a GTA Online trailer.
Rockstar Games Has Got Something for Fans
Other than speculations regarding the game’s launch, some leaks suggest it may take up over 300 gigabytes of space on a system. While it may already sound overwhelming to many, it also hints at a groundbreaking experience in the game. Nevertheless, it is still a far cry from a previous leak that highlighted that the new installment in the series could be around 750 GB.
Rockstar Games has asked the employees to work from the office for the “final stretch” of the game’s development, beginning in April 2024. Though uncertain, it gives developers ample time to add more flavors as they roll up their sleeves for what looks like a final phase now.
The available material associated with the game on the internet has already given the fans a glimpse of some characters and the huge map. It has only added to the fans’ appetite for the game. Until GTA 6 arrives, players will be happy to know that free content is coming to GTA 5 this week.
