Talking about his flopped movie in an interview with the Empire Magazine, he revealed, “The only movie I would change is Sucker Punch because it never really got finished correctly.”

Since many avid Synder fans are aware of a director’s cut for the 2011 movie, fans have long been anticipating its release. Though there’s not much information about that, the Man of Steel director revealed,

“Even the director’s cut is not really the correct cut. It’s really just an extended version. If I had the chance, I would fix that movie.”

While the director gave no further clue about what exactly would he fix in that movie, he did provide an update on his revised version that he had already filmed.

“I have the footage already shot: they just have to let me put it together. We ask every now and then. We have to ask again. I think there has to be a window when no-one’s got the movie.”

Given that the fan campaign for Synder’s cut of Justice League was mega-successful, he seems hopeful for this one.

“If they want to start a campaign, that’s alright.”

This is not the first time when the filmmaker has gotten candid about the project as he has long been pointing out the radical changes that happened at the time of its making.

In a 2021 video interview with Vanity Fair, the 58-year-old filmmaker got candid about his old project, revealing that it was restructured to be more commercial. While it was widely panned at the time, over the years, the movie gained a minor cult following, with fans demanding a Synder Cut of the same.

Regarding the same, he revealed,

“That was the first time where I really faced like a true, radical restructuring of the film for it to be more commercial. And there is a director’s cut of that movie that has yet to be released, I will say that out loud.”

The 2011 movie stars Emily Browning as Babydoll, a young woman who is committed to a mental institution. As she prepares to escape from her agony, she slips into a fantasy world where she and her fellow inmates are strong, experienced warriors.
