Although it can’t be said if Tom Cruise will join the franchise or not, the fans can’t control their excitement after recent reports claimed a major comeback in the movie. Soon after the Rome premiere took place, it was reported by The Wrap that one of the most unprecedented returns is going to occur in the next movie in the form of Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who repeatedly claimed to have no interest in re-joining the franchise after his long-time public feud with Vin Diesel, seemed to have worked out something between them to give the fans a glimpse of every character they have seen in the franchise to date. Recently, Diesel also revealed that Universal requested them to expand the main series to 12 films,  thereby making the finale in three parts.

Luke Hobbs reportedly makes his appearance in the post-credit scene of Fast X and according to many, it can also open the doors for a sequel to the spin-off Hobbs & Shaw series. The return of DSS Luke Hobbs makes sense as his character debuted in Fast Five and was an integral part of the story. Fast X also shares a direct connection with the fifth movie as Jason Momoa, who plays Dante Reyes, is the son of Hernan Reyes, the main antagonist of the fifth movie.

Fast X will hit theaters on May 19, 2023.
