The 2024 Road House, directed by Doug Liman is a remake of Patrick Swayze’s 1989 movie by the same name. During the latest interview with Extra TV, the 43-year-old actor acknowledged his entire team for his intense transformation.

The Spider-Man: Far From Home actor shared that he loves to take challenges and it took an incredible team for him to pull off the transformation. He also joked that they used a lot of tanning spray in the filming process.

“I love like pushing myself but it took months and it also took a village. It took an incredible trainer, an incredible person who was literally cooking for me and handing me the calories, and we had physical therapists for me and the cast if there were injuries. We had a team of people making sure and we had a lot of tanning spray that actually helps you know. Buckets of it.”

Road House remake was recently premiered at the SXSW before hitting Prime Video on March 21. For the role of Elwood Dalton, Jake Gyllenhaal did not even touch a chip and abided by a strict diet plan. His trainer Jason Walsh also designed a rigorous workout routine involving a combination of weightlifting, bodyweight exercises, and cardio (via Medium).

When the Love & Other Drugs actor and celebrity trainer Jason Walsh gave an interview to Men’s Health, it was revealed that the workout routine brought down Gyllenhaal from 205 pounds to 184 pounds. The actor who had previously raised eyebrows for his insane transformation in Southpaw recreated the magic again with Road House physique. Walsh commented that ultimately everything comes down to the star’s dedication and Jake Gyllenhaal did not fail.
