“Michael Douglas made $14 million. Now, I was new. I was new and he was a very big star.”

Although she acknowledged the fact that since she was starting out in the industry, there was no reason for her to have a salary as magnificent as the actor. However, she did not like the fact that the difference was much greater than it would probably have been had the role been for a male actor instead. The line producer did not even know her correct name back then and continuously called her Karen. He did so even during the Governer’s Ball and she could not fathom just how humiliating it had been for her.
