Christopher Eccleston, despite being a cool and thoughtful conversationalist, had an on-screen presence that often conveyed fear, suspicion, and rising panic. This anxiety-fueled his performances in films like Let Him Have It, depicting a real-life miscarriage of justice. It also manifested in various roles, such as the paranoid character in Shallow Grave and the reborn Christ in The Second Coming. Unfortunately, he was betrayed by an A-list actress who made a wild accusation against him.
Christopher Eccleston’s acting career, from his portrayal of the ninth Doctor in Doctor Who to embodying Malekith the Accursed in Thor: The Dark World, has been marked by a palpable sense of urgency, angst, and wounded malevolence. Despite these intense performances, he has also encountered some unfortunate scenes in his acting career.

Christopher Eccleston Was Stabbed In The Back By An A-List Actress Who Made A Bizarre Accusation Against Him
While speaking to The Independent, Christopher Eccleston revealed that he was once accused of “copping a feel” by an A-list actress during the shooting of a s*x scene. He described the accusation as an “abuse of power” and expressed his anger over the incident. Eccleston emphasized that he was fortunate that this happened before the Harvey Weinstein revelations, preventing severe consequences.
“I did a s*x scene with an A-list actress – not Nicole Kidman, who was brilliant – and she implied, in front of the crew, that I was copping a feel. Because she didn’t like me.
I was fortunate that happened to me before the Harvey Weinstein stuff came to light, so I wasn’t put in the stocks for it. But I’ve never felt more betrayed by a fellow actor than I did that day.”
Christopher Eccleston felt betrayed by his fellow actor and highlighted the importance of having an intimacy coordinator on set to prevent such situations and ensure trust between actors.
“I have to say to you that I would sooner have put my hands in a food blender than copped a feel of that person,” he continued. “It was an abuse of power, what she did. I don’t think that would have happened with an intimacy coordinator on set. I could have been accused of all manner of things… that’s about what passes between actors, with trust and the abuse of it.”
It is simply a shame such a thing even happened to Christopher Eccleston but it simply goes to show one can’t blindly trust their co-stars, especially if they turn out to be a major star.

Christopher Eccleston Had An Awkward First Meeting With Jodie Foster
Christopher Eccleston’s first meeting with Jodie Foster took an unexpected turn when discussing their first intimate scene. Eccleston, trying to appear cool, accidentally broke a table, resulting in a humorous moment of laughter. This incident instantly created a connection, and understanding, and eased any tension for their subsequent intimate scenes.
“We got together to discuss our first s*x scene and, trying to be oh-so-nonchalant, I leant back on what I thought was a sturdy table, and it broke in two. I’d only been in the room for two minutes, and there I was, laying on my back, surrounded by shards of wood… and the three of us – me, Jodie and Issa – just started laughing. We took a photograph in the debris, and we didn’t have to rehearse any more, because in laughing so hysterically we’d understood we had the same approach to things and it was plain sailing from there.”
Despite participating in intimate scenes with his childhood crush Jodie Foster, Eccleston wasn’t nervous, since he was used to such scenes in the past already. However, he emphasized the significance of intimacy coordinators in the industry, not only for protection but also for creative collaboration in realistically portraying scenes. Both Eccleston and Foster, having encountered challenging intimate scenes before, appreciated the support provided by an intimacy coordinator
“No, no, not at all,” he says. “I’ve done so many s*x scenes over the years. But this was, I think, only my second time working on a show with an intimacy coordinator. Those are a wonderful innovation in the industry. Not just because it protects people, but to creatively decide how a scene should be played. If I were a writer, that would be very important to me – because the way people have s*x is how they communicate.”
Christopher Eccleston shared an amusing story, and fortunately, everything worked out in the end. The two were able to perform their scenes without any issues, bringing a positive resolution to the situation.
