However, despite not doing much himself, the sheer number of stunts made him feel like he was part of an Avengers movie.

During a recent public appearance, Gosling graciously thanked everyone involved in making the movie happen, including his stunt doubles, who made him feel like he was both in Ocean’s Eleven and The Avengers. He said,

“It took eight stunt performers to make one ‘Fall Guy’, there were times like should we be making a movie or robbing a bank. This is kind of the gratest bank robbing team, everyone had their own special skill, it was like The Avengers, in fact, probably a lot of them were Avengers if you look at their CVs.”

David Leitch, the director on the project who also has been a seaosned stunt man for years along with stunt coordinator Chris O’Hara, meticulously planned every sequence of the stunts together. In a Vulture interview, O’Hara said,

“At that point in development, there’s really nothing that’s off-limits,–You try to go big–One of the greatest compliments we got was when the visual-effects supervisor said, ‘I don’t know why I’m here!’ A lot of the things he thought he was going to have to do he didn’t have to do.”

And they definaly went big! Cramming possibly every stunt imaginable into this movie. So much so that the film broke the Guinness World Record for the most cannon rolls in a car captured on camera in a motion picture, achieving a staggering eight and a half rolls!

Ryan Gosling Was Dropped From the 12th Floor While Filming The Fall Guy!

Although Ryan Gosling didn’t do many stunts, that doesn’t mean he didn’t do any! One of them included being thrown off twelve stories to conquer his fear of heights. In an exclusive interview with People at the action-comedy’s SXSW premiere in Austin, Texas, Gosling reveled,

“They dropped me twelve stories off of a building, and I have a fear of heights.”

But that wasn’t all! He also tackled a few more stunts.

Although he would have been perfectly content without risking his life for even a single scene, he revealed his satisfaction with having done so. He stated,

It was indeed David Leitch’s heartfelt homage to the art of stunts. When discussing the authenticity and journey to reaching this milestone, he elaborated on his view during a Vanity Fair interview session. He said,

“Obviously in modern cinema we have the use of CGI, and we use it liberally,–But when we’re making a love letter to stunts and the blue-collar crews that make these movies come to life, we explored doing old-school high falls into airbags, and jumping a car as far as we could, and rolling a car as many times as we could.”

The film has been performing exceptionally well on Rotten Tomatoes, boasting a solid 95% rating, and reviews glowing with praise. Fans literally can’t wait to experience this in the theaters.

The Fall Guy is set to release on May 3rd.
