The couple started dating in 2009 after meeting on the set of the first installment of the Twilight franchise. The duo split in 2013 after four years of dating. The rift between the stars emerged after Stewart was accused of cheating on The Batman star with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. The duo has been extremely popular, even after their break-up, there are still discussions about their relationship. Reflecting on their relationship, Stewart told Time about how it affected her life.
“People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product. It wasn’t real life anymore. And that was gross to me. It’s not that I want to hide who I am or hide anything I’m doing in my life. It’s that I don’t want to become a part of a story for entertainment value,” Stewart said.
Of course, Twilight changed the course of Stewart’s career, it was indeed a breakthrough but the romantic scandal certainly put the Spencer actor in a difficult position. Stewart issued a public apology following the released photographs of Rupert Sanders and her kissing but it was already intense. Also, Sanders was already married which in a way put her in the controversy.

Before breaking up, the relationship of the duo has been pretty serious. Of course, Stewart wanted to scream and tell the world of their love but she avoided that mostly. “We didn’t walk down the street holding hands because we were like ‘we don’t want to give it to them,’” Stewart told Howard Stern. “But then we didn’t get to walk down the street holding hands—and it sucked,” she added.
“Every relationship I’ve ever been in, I thought that was it. I’ve never been like the most casual person.”
Stewart is currently engaged to Dylan Meyer. Following their dating rumor, Steward was bombarded with several questions about her sexuality. “On some level, the fervent question that was demanded of me for so long is now ridiculous. It’s a non-starter,” she said.
“People change every day. There is no reason why anyone needs to provide like an easy narrative for other people to digest. Why would I simplify something very complex just in order for you to feel more comfy?”
Stewart is happy with her Fiancée, and reportedly, they have been planning for a wedding to be together for life.
