Helldivers 2 is no doubt a very successful game. This third-person co-op sci-fi shooter has been at the top of people’s lists ever since its launch a while ago. There can be a number of reasons for its success; some can say its gameplay mechanics are too good. Others can say its ever-evolving conflict is one of the prime reasons for its success.
A large selection of weapons can also be a reason; it just comes down to the player’s choice. Gamers get to choose what they want to choose when they are on the battlefield. Among all the weapons players use, there’s one called stratagems. These are a bunch of powerful pieces of equipment that players can use to dispose of their enemies.
Here are some of the most underrated stratagems everyone should use:
1. Recoilless Rifle
The best use for this rifle is to use it against vehicles with armor. It can make quick work out of those brutes without any hiccups.
The only issue is that it takes a lot to reload. It’s most useful when two players commit themselves to this weapon. One holds the ammo while the other fires.
2. EMS
A Redditor by the name of Breakout_114 suggests that EMS might just be one of the most effective pieces of equipment in the game. While it does not do damage to the enemies, it actually works to stop them in their tracks. Due to this effect, it “make the lives of every diver easier.”
Once again, not being damage-based equipment would not sit well with many players. But when used strategically, it can be very useful.
3. Spear
Now there is a bunch of equipment in Helldivers 2 that suggests it can take down heavy armored enemies, but only if players use it twice or thrice. But there are times when players need a weapon that is capable of one-shotting those armored tanks and such. Spear is one such piece of equipment; some say this weapon might be the most powerful handheld weapon in-game.
But this weapon, too, takes a while to load. This load time can mean life or death for many players; hence, it is suggested that players have someone to help them. But their ammo count can be a problem too, standing at just 4.
4. Railgun
Are you annoyed by those chargers just running up to you and making your life hell? Grab a railgun, and it would remove their armor in just two shots. This gun is so effective that players can easily one-shot those hulks and bile titans if aimed precisely.
The only thing is that it’s a gun, and sometimes one cannot help but feel if the Recoilless Rifle could have served them better?’
5. Orbital Laser
Now there are some weapons in this game that are just too powerful, and no doubt the developers know this too. They can make quick work out of most enemies in the game, and that’s why players can use them in limited quantities. The oribital laser can only be used three times per mission, and the reason is simple: it brings down hellfire on every enemy it is targeted at for a very long time. In fact, it only takes seconds to take down the bile titans.
There’s no real drawback to this weapon; it’s just a very powerful, prolonged, and massive laser beam that can make a real difference in the game.
6. Orbital Railcannon Strike
Out of every weapon on this list, if there’s one weapon that can 100% one-shot every enemy in Helldivers 2, it’s the Orbital Railcannon Strike. Just aim and let this cannon blow your enemies into smithereens.
But the small issue with this weapon is the fact that it has some issues targeting the Bile Titans very effectively. It is a very specific issue too; otherwise, every other enemy can say their goodbyes as they do not stand a chance.
