The Iron Man actress recently attended the Visionary Women’s International Women’s Day Summit. Present alongside Paltrow was the former US Ambassador to the Bahamas, Nicole Avant. Both women have a lot in common with each other. In addition to being remarkable in their respective fields, both Paltrow and Avant are stepmothers to two children.

During their conversation, Paltrow opened up about her experience of being a stepmother. Addressing all the other stepmothers in the audience, the 51-year-old actress said, “It’s a b*tch, right, guys?” (via People).

Gwyneth Paltrow went on to elaborate on her experience and how it became one of her biggest life lessons. She further added that, despite the initial hiccups, they are now like her own children.

“I actually, I really like to talk about this because it’s one of my biggest learnings as a human being. And my area of growth personally came from the initial difficult relationship I had with my step kids and now they’re like my kids,” said the actress (via People).
