The fight against Automatons and Terminids in the third-person co-op shooter title Helldivers 2 is well underway as players look to deliver democracy to the citizens of Super Earth. The conversation around the best weapons in the game has also begun, with players looking to be well-equipped before they take on oppressive forces.
However, despite players using the best weapons available, some enemies are much more overpowered and harder to defeat than others. This is where players are drawing the line, and they are now requesting developer Arrowhead Game Studios to nerf one Terminid enemy.
Charger Terminids Are Overpowered in Helldivers 2
One Helldivers 2 player, Vaye_the_Cat, took to the Helldivers subreddit and complained that they are having problems with the armor plating of Charger and that it is “way too strong” in comparison to the enemy’s threat level. The player further said that while they are tanks and need to be strong, “a Hulk is easier to take down” than the Chargers.
The player also listed reasons why the Charger is too strong to take down, such as its body armor and more. They added that even the legs of a Charger are considered to be heavy armor, and only “EATs and Recoilless” are options left to defeat them.
The player also said that starting with Difficulty 4, players may need to face 2-3 of the Chargers at once, and it gets more tricky. Moreover, they said that their charge is also capable of matching the speed of Light Armor sprint speed, and it leaves players with no options other than circling them.
They added that the only exposed and non-armored body part of the Charger is its buttocks, but it is not the weak spot. They also mentioned that even if players manage to dodge their charge, the Chargers can still bodyslam them, resulting in players losing the chance to deal them any damage.
Players Want the Chargers Nerfed in the Game
The player requested the Helldivers 2 developers to nerf the Charger and tune down the leg armor to Medium, saying that then they would be able to use the Autocannon on them. They also said that the developers can try to make the Charger’s buttocks an actual weak spot instead of bait for players.
They added that they prioritize taking out Chargers, but they are very hard to defeat even with anti-armor weapons. They also said that they’d fancy going on a bug mission with other weapons than just Railgun/Recoilless, which is only possible if the Charger is nerfed and the armor is tuned down.
They also mentioned that they know how to use the Railgun, but there are not enough weapon options to go against the Chargers, despite the support weapons. Several Helldivers 2 players agreed to them and added that they are sick of the Chargers as well, especially after Difficulty 7, and it’s hard to take them down without Railgun, adding that the enemy desperately needs a nerf.
