Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO has been eagerly anticipated by fans, and for good reason. It is the sequel to the Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (after 17 years). From explosive energy blasts to martial arts battles, Sparking! ZERO aims to capture the essence of the anime series. It’s clear that Furuya and his team are working hard to ensure that this game delivers an experience that is both faithful to the source material (Manga/anime) and incredibly exciting to play.

Furuya also shared that the character's moveset will affect the environment around them.

Apart from the stunning graphics and engaging combat, Furuya also shared that the character’s moveset will affect the environment around them. Just like it was showcased in the Dragon Ball anime, where rocks were breaking apart and flying when going Super Saiyan. When asked about the power level, Furuya said, via X:

Even though it’s the same fighting game, rather than fighting strictly on equal terms like in Dragon Ball FighterZ, it’s designed to focus on Dragon Ball-like action. In that sense, the strong characters in the game are strong, and the weak characters have a hard time.

Players should look forward to taking control of powerful Saiyan, Earth warriors, and villains with their original powers. They will be able to battle their way through the game’s epic story mode and compete against friends in intense multiplayer matches.

As shown in the trailers and promotion videos, the game features all the iconic characters (164 characters). Players will be able to pick their favorite character and can even recreate their favorite battles from throughout the Dragon Ball story.

Furuya also shared why the studio decided to remove the “Z” from the game’s name and added Zero. With this new sequel, developers aim to establish it as the starting point for any new players, who want to enter the franchise and learn its origin.

The reason for the title ‘Zero’ is to make it easier to start from here, as its the first new work in 17 years. By the way, Sparking! series was released overseas under the title ‘Budoukai Tenkaichi’, but this work has a unified name.

With the promise of authentic characters with their power scaling and the latest insights from Jun Furuya about the game, October 11th can’t come soon enough. So, let’s get ready to power up, and prepare to embark on the ultimate Dragon Ball adventure.
