Other than being an incredible actress, Wen is also popularly known as the voice of Mulan after she voiced the character on multiple occasions in the popular Disney franchise.

It is a popular myth in the industry that male actors generally age like a fine wine meaning they get better as they age, unlike their female costars whose careers continue to decline after they reach a certain age. This phenomenon is popularly known as the ‘Tom Cruise‘ effect among the netizens as the Hollywood icon and legendary action actor is continuing to give hit after hit even at the age of 61.

Ming-Na Wen is also very famous for her stunning looks because although the actress is 60 at the moment, she looks like she never aged a day after turning 35 and also has this youthful aura around her. The Book of Boba Fett actress was recently complimented on the same in a recent podcast episode of The Sackhoff Show with Katee Sackhoff and Wen revealed that she wants it to happen to more women in the industry. She said,

“It happens to men, right? Men as they get older, their careers get better, you know they are seasoned. They have a body of work, that brings them up several levels and I think it’s high time that it happens to women and I’m seeing it more and more. If I can be one of those and continue to pave that way, then yeah.”

Ming-Na Wen opened up about the same in a recent podcast episode of The Sackhoff Show with Katee Sackhoff and said,

“I think genes have a lot to do with it, taking care of yourself has a lot to do with it. Being oblivious and happy, and not allowing negativity and toxic energy to eat you up is really vital. I’m very grateful for it.”

Ming-Na Wen further went on to talk about how she and her husband, Eric Michael Zee sometimes get shocked when they look at other people of their age as they look so different from them.

Wen further revealed that although she has not aged on the outside, sometimes she feels old on the inside when she looks up some people her age who used to be popular back in the 80s or 90s.
