Ryan Reynolds has been one of the most iconic anti-heroes in superhero cinema and with the current chaos ensuing from the leaks of Deadpool 3, the crowd has been left amuck in a place without control. Marking the debut of Deadpool as a Marvel hero and not just tied to Fox Studios, the film is credited with even holding the foundation of what Avengers: Secret Wars is to become.

In recent days, there have been photos roaming around the internet, all showing glimpses and leaks of what the film is preparing to show the world. These leaks came out of nowhere and now Reynolds himself has taken to address the spreading of information when it is not ready to be circulated. Moreover, he managed to throw shade at something the Marvel Cinematic Universe had been unfortunately failing at.

Ryan Reynolds Shared His Dismay Over Leaked Deadpool 3 Photos

Ryan Reynolds recently shared via Discussing Film on X regarding the leaks that have gone astray, exposing the careful discretion with which Deadpool 3 was being filmed. He talked about how the leaks have been rather unethical seeing that fans have been waiting for this film and spoiling will only ruin the anticipation and excitement that it has been building for so long.

“Here’s hoping some of the websites and social channels hold back showing images before they’re ready. The film is built for audience joy – and our highest hope is to preserve as much of that magic as possible for the finished film and the big screen. Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I realize these aren’t real world issues and it’s firmly in the “good problems” bucket. I love making this movie.”

He does state that although the world has bigger problems to deal with, it does not necessarily mean that it is right to completely disregard and spread information about those who have been working exceptionally hard on the film. Furthermore, it is best to let the pot simmer rather than opening the lid even before it is prepared.

Ryan Reynolds Wants Authenticity Over CGI

Ryan Reynolds did manage to throw a little shade, perhaps unintentionally, towards the extensive use of CGI. He talked, via Discussing Film, about how there has been a focus on practical effects and using real settings rather than staying hidden in the comfort of the green screen. Although it is somewhat rudimentary, it presents both ideas and exposures.

“Surprises are part of the magic of theatrical movies. It’s important for us to shoot the new DEADPOOL film in real, natural environments, using practical effects as opposed to making the movie indoors and digitally. Telephoto lenses continue to spoil surprises and create a difficult situation for everyone.

There is no doubt that the MCU has been rather thin in their CGI game as of late. It has been both underwhelming and heavily reliant on the same. The focus on the VFX and special effects rather than what can be achieved otherwise has led to an underwhelming response from the fans as well. Deadpool 3 could easily avoid this seeing that it is going for a more natural outlook in filming rather than the green screens.

Deadpool 3 will be available to watch in theatres from 26th July 2024.
