The show was known for its portrayal of corporate law, with its charming and suave protagonists played by Gabriel Macht and Patrick J Adams. While the show had a good finale, the renewed interest might influence the networks to work on a revival, and creator Aaron Korsh mentioned that he would up for it if his one condition was met.

Why Did Suits End?

When the main actors of Suits such as Patrick J Adams, Gabriel Macht, and Meghan Markle were cast, they reportedly had a contract of seven seasons. The show’s success led to the series being renewed for an eighth season, but both Markle and Adams decided to leave the show.

Meghan Markle left the show prior to her marriage to Prince Harry, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, and became the Duchess of Sussex. Creator Aaron Korsh reportedly approached the USA network to figure out how to go ahead and decided on two more seasons, with a short and final ninth season to wrap up the storylines.

Korsh said in an interview with Deadline about how they planned to deal with the exit of its two major stars,

“During the course of season 7, as they were negotiating the cast’s contracts for two years, an unforeseen thing happened. You can never know that one of your stars is going to marry the Prince of England, and Patrick decided not to return, so we had a choice whether to keep going after season 7.”

After its 2019 end, the show has only recently gained traction again since it started streaming on Netflix.

Would There Be A Revival Of Suits?

With the series being one of the most streamed shows of the summer, it is bound to attract the attention of networks who would want to revive the series. When asked if he would be interested in a revival of the series, creator Aaron Korsh said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter,

“First of all, it’s really hard work to come up with plots for a show that you love and care about and want to be great, so I’d never put a second of thought into it without someone saying, ‘We want to do this,’ because it’s just torture to me.”

Korsh also mentioned that he would be willing to do a spin-off on the character Robert Zane, played by Wendell Pierce. The creator had revealed once that he had an idea centered around the father of Meghan Markle’s Rachel Zane, but the network would not go for it.

“I know I’ve mentioned the [Robert] Zane prequel idea, I would do that in the second. I was really excited about that.”

However, as far as the original show was concerned, Korsh mentioned that he was satisfied with the way the show ended as the USA network had given him 26 episodes of notice before the show’s end. He also said that he was not a fan of revivals and reboots of established properties.
