Players will also get access to a huge map as the game will feature a huge open world. Moreover, according to the developers, the character progression of the players will be exciting. This will therefore require that players establish relationships with other factions in the game.

Dune: Awakening players need to be careful of one particular thing

Up until some time ago, the details about the game were scarce. However, the developers recently gave their first detailed presentation of the upcoming game to the press. The presentation took place in San Francisco, during the Game Developers Conference.

The developers had a detailed presentation for Dune: Awakening

After the presentation, the creative director of the game, Joel Bylos conducted a roundtable Q&A. During the Q&A, Bylos threw some new and interesting light on the upcoming game.

During the session, Bylos also spoke about dying in a sandstorm when he was asked about the same. He added that, even though the player’s death is not instant, they will die quickly. This is because, after the first sandstorm, the player will be hit by another one.

He, however, reassured the fans by saying that the game comes with a shelter mechanism whereby the players can huddle up against a wall and save them. However, this will not work when the Coriolis storm comes as it will wipe out everything on its way.

In the same session, Bylos also gave a warning to players, as they need to be careful of one particular thing while playing the game. This was in response to the question of what will happen if the player is stuck in the deep desert during the server wipe.

Bylos replied that the players would get a warning, but eventually, they would be kicked out. Moreover, he also said

I told the team it’s like the blood moon in Zelda

Therefore, this is one particular thing the players need to be mindful of. Players will be given half a day of warning. They need to identify the signs of it by noticing the changes in the sky and they need to know that the Coriolis storm is on the way.

Dune: Awakening expected release date

Despite the trailer launch, and the recent detailed presentation of the game, Dune: Awakening still doesn’t have an official release date yet. However, after the trailer launch, the developers offered the players an opportunity to sign up for a closed beta test of the game.

Players wanting to try out the game in the closed beta can do so by registering with their email on the game’s official website. However, this will only be an invite-only beta test. There is also no news on how long the closed beta will last.

It is also very likely that, after the closed beta test is over, the developers will most likely move to another open beta stage. Only after this phase is completed can the players expect to hear about an official release date.

The game features an expansive open-world, and therefore, it is highly possible that the game will not be released this year. As such, players might have to wait until next year to get their hands on the game. At launch, the game will be made available on PC, and the current generation PS and Xbox consoles.
