Euphoria star Hunter Schafer recently graduated from TV to film with appearances in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes and Cuckoo. The latter was reportedly her first time on a film set, despite being one of the breakout stars of HBO’s Euphoria. In the teen drama, she played the role of Jules, the love interest and friend of Zendaya’s Rue.
Schafer, who was propelled to fame early in her life after she became a vocal activist for the lawsuit against North Carolina’s HB2 Bill, has had her fair share of public relationships. The actress dated her Euphoria co-star Dominic Fike till last year. She also revealed that she was with Spanish singer Rosalía for a few months, confirming fans’ speculations.
Hunter Schafer Breaks Silence About Her Relationship With Rosalía
Hunter Schafer reportedly had her breakthrough as a model when she was propelled to national fame as the youngest plaintiff in North Carolina’s controversial HB2 Bill. The lawsuit resulted in the repealing of the Bill (via Fox 8). Schafer began her acting career in Euphoria and had a breakthrough with other actors in the teen drama such as Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Maude Apatow.
In a recent interview with GQ, the actress opened up about her past relationships. While talking about the effects her breakup with Euphoria co-star Dominic Fike had on her, she hinted at having dated other famous people before but it just was not that public.
After being pushed by the interviewer, Schafer revealed that she had dated Spanish singer Rosalía. She said to GQ,
“It’s been so much speculation for so long. Part of us just wants to get it over with, and then another part is like, ‘It’s none of anybody’s f*cking business!’. [Ultimately] it’s something I’m happy to share. And I think she feels that way too.”
The actress mentioned that she and Rosalía dated for five months in 2019 and that they were still friends. Hunter Schafer said that she had developed great friendships with many of the people she had been romantically involved with and called Rosalía her “family, no matter what”.
Rosalía has reportedly been dating The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White. According to US Weekly, White and Rosalía were seen at a farmer’s market in LA and were also seen hugging each other in the cinema capital. Though neither has confirmed their relationship, a source reportedly mentioned to US Weekly that the two shared a friendship before being romantically involved.
Hunter Schafer’s Relationship With Dominic Fike
When Hunter Schafer was filming for the upcoming horror film Cuckoo, she was reportedly still reeling in from her breakup with Dominic Fike. The actress mentioned that being a part of the horror film helped her ‘exorcise’ many of the pent-up emotions that were within her after their split. The two reportedly met on the sets of the season 2 of Euphoria.
The couple reportedly split after dating for more than a year, with Fike confirming the news that they had broken up. The singer also revealed that he felt that he had co-dependency issues and that he wanted to spend some time alone. He said to The LA Times,
“I could make music around her, which was crazy. I was looking through songs the other day and found one that I made with her. I was like, ‘Man, that was so cool.’ But the fact of me saying that — of being uncomfortable being alone — that’s a bad thing. So I decided to just be alone for a while.”
Hunter Schafer mentioned how she had not dated a man before Fike and how her experiences with men before had deterred her from pursuing it. However, her relationship with Fike reportedly opened her up to newer experiences, and that she had a beautiful relationship with the singer (via GQ).
