Showering the actor with praise, here’s what Blunt and Matt Damon had to say about Cillian Murphy.

“[Oppenheimer was] a marathon. When you are at the center of a movie at that scale, shooting seven scenes in a day, it takes a different focus and concern and commitment. It’s beautiful to watch someone give themselves to it fully.,” said Matt Damon.

While Emily Blunt talked about how Murphy was an actor who lead with the truth and the “laser beams on his face”.

“[Murphy] leads with truth, he isn’t an actor who chews the scenery. There aren’t many people who can seemingly do nothing and be magnetic like him. And it’s not just about those laser beams on his face! He has thought about every detail. Cillian is brilliant at playing that ambiguity of intention.”

The duo wasn’t the first one to compliment the actor on his eyes. According to a story revealed by Christopher Nolan, the role of Scarecrow was given to Cillian Murphy just because Nolan saw the craziness and the intensity in his eyes.

“I remember I was up in San Francisco writing Batman Begins and there was something in the San Francisco Chronicle about 28 Days Later. I saw a picture of you with your shaved head and your crazy eyes — no offense. I remember being struck by your presence, literally from that one photograph, and then started to look into who you were, and what you’d done, and got very excited about the idea of meeting you, and having you screen test for Batman.”

As for the people, the rest is history since Cillian Murphy shined in Batman Begins. Cillian Murphy is all set to shine once again in Oppenheimer when it releases in theaters on 21st July 2023 in the U.S.
