It is undoubtedly tough to believe that even the Top Gun actor gets terrified of these action set-pieces. But no matter how we take those scenes, Tom Cruise admitted that he also gets terrified of some stunts.

In the latest Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning, we saw Agent Ethan Hunt jumping off a cliff on a motorcycle. The stunt was one of the primary attractions of the film. When it was revealed that Tom Cruise had maintained his tradition and performed this dangerous set piece on his own, the fans were dumbfounded.

Even though the fans considered him a living superhero, the star was clear that he also had his fears. While talking to CNN, the Ethan Hunt fame revealed that he also feels fear. However, what makes him different from us is his courage to confront it.

“It’s not like I’m not scared. I don’t mind being scared. I want to confront it.”

While Tom Cruise performs his stunt gracefully, it gets difficult for director Christopher McQuarrie to monitor the whole thing. He revealed that he goes through a lot while looking at the screen and praying for Cruise’s safety. For the motorcycle sequence in Dead Reckoning, Cruise jumped off the cliff six times to capture the scene from different angles.

“I was just staring at the crosshairs on the screen, and I was waiting to see blue – blue was the color of his parachute. Once I saw blue, I was just making sure it was a square, because if it wasn’t a square, it meant there was a malfunction. There was no coming back from it.”

However, no matter how intense the filming process gets for McQuarrie, finishing a Mission Impossible flick always gives him immense joy to think that everybody is safe at the end. Hopefully, we will witness another epic sequence in the upcoming sequel to Dead Reckoning- Part One.
