Sydney Sweeney’s rom-com Anyone But You was filmed in Australia, a land that is known for its dangerous animals. While filming for the Will Gluck-directed rom-com, Sweeney revealed in an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon that she had to film a scene with a real spider in a comedic scene. However, things went awry when the Euphoria star was bit by the spider while rolling, which caused quite a bit of confusion. She said,

“So, we’re filming, and then the thing just starts biting me. But we’re in the middle of the scene, and I’m supposed to be screaming, but then my screaming got a little serious. They thought I was making really serious dramatic choices in a rom-com.”

The actress mentioned that her co-star Glen Powell noticed that the performance was getting too real and asked the director to cut it. Sweeney mentioned that the spider was supposed to be trained but, for some reason, ended up biting her. She continued,

“That was, like, a soul scream. I thought I was gonna die. Well, I was like, ‘It’s poisonous. I’m gonna die.’”

Sydney Sweeney mentioned that she was sent to the on-set clinic right after, she jokingly wrote that she was now Spiderwoman after the spider bite, which was apparently odd as they did not know she was cast in Madame Web yet.
