According to The Hollywood Reporter, the idea for the series came after the Hollywood star started a climate tech venture Footprint Coalition that focuses on investing in innovative climate tech. The idea to restore his cars to make them more eco-friendly was suggested by his wife Susan Downey, as they didn’t reconcile with the aim of his company.

The Sherlock Holmes star has worked on these restorations with experts from across the country, and every car features a different kind of environmental technology. All six cars were on display for the show’s Los Angeles premiere.
