I’ve had a lifelong dream of wanting to work with Emma Stone. I’ve been obsessed with her since I was allowed to watch her movies.”

Emma Stone rose to fame for her works in 2009’s Zombieland and 2010’s Easy A, but her popularity gained momentum after she starred opposite Andrew Garfield in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man as Gwen Stacy.

In 2017, Stone received an Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in La La Land. She went through a drastic transformation when she starred in 2021’s Cruella, and now, her latest project with Yorgos Lanthimos, Poor Things, is set to win her another prestigious award after her nomination for Best Actress.

I’ve loved watching her, from Easy A to Birdman and La La Land. She’s always in touch with her style, and I believe everything she does.”

Indeed, there is a deeper meaning to Stone’s acting techniques. She once revealed that it helps her overcome her anxiety and doubts in life. From an early age, she dreamed of becoming an actress, and that ambition gave her the drive to pursue what she loves to do.

This is why Stone’s performances always leave a lasting impression on the viewers. She has a unique way of communicating with the audience through her acting, so there’s no mystery why even Pugh was charmed and captivated by Stone’s natural talent.

Florence Pugh’s journey to stardom was not smooth sailing at all. The actress recalled during her interview with Vogue that two of her teachers once told her she would fail to become an actress.

I had two teachers who heavily suggested I shouldn’t, ’cos I was definitely gonna fail to be an actor. And at this point, I’d been in every play, every school competition, every talent show. The only thing that I was good at at this school was the thing I’d just been given this opportunity for.”

Of course, she did not listen to them; she joined an open casting call for the coming-of-age film The Falling at age 16 which ended up jumpstarting her acting career.
