MacFarlane recently appeared at the PaleyFest, with the show’s voice cast and the group took part in a live table read of an upcoming episode of the series. During his interactions with the fans, MacFarlane revealed he had always planned to make a Family Guy movie.

“I have known what that movie will be for the past 15 years and I just haven’t had the time to get to it, but I do know what it will be.”

MacFarlane made the above statement (via The Wrap), hinting that scheduling conflicts were the primary reason holding him back from working on the feature film. This isn’t the first time the topic of a Family Guy movie has come up. The film was first reported to be in development in 2007 but is yet to come to fruition.

In November 2012, MacFarlane confirmed his intentions to produce a feature film but plans were reportedly put on hold as he was working on Ted 2. As a result, the Family Guy film has previously been delayed because of MacFarlane’s busy schedule, and by the creator’s own admission that trend doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon.
