The Deadpool 3 trailer revealed the Merc with a Mouth will enter the MCU via the Time Variance Authority (TVA). This organization, charged with monitoring timeline deviations, previously only appeared in the Loki Disney+ series starring Tom Hiddleston. So could Loki himself feature in the upcoming Deadpool threequel? Hiddleston finally broke his silence.
How Could Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Fit Into Deadpool 3?
During a recent conversation at Comfest – Kuwait, Tom Hiddleston was asked outright if he would cameo in Deadpool 3.

“I don’t know, and if I did… I might not be allowed to tell you,” he admitted. “I truly don’t know, Marvel are correctly protective of their information.”
So while Hiddleston neither confirmed nor denied his involvement, his cryptic response keeps the door open. With Loki now serving as the MCU’s God of Stories, crossover cameos could be part of his new narrative duties.
In the Deadpool 3 trailer, Wade Wilson is forcibly recruited by the TVA to help restore balance across the multiverse. As the only MCU property to explore the TVA so far, Loki’s appearance would connect more franchise threads.
The TVA could even enlist Loki’s help to track down Deadpool, given the mischievous god’s past as a “time-variant” himself. And as the MCU’s newly appointed God of Stories, Loki may want to intervene in Deadpool’s chaotic storyline.
Hiddleston’s non-denial leaves room for a range of creative cameo options. And Loki is no stranger to popping up unexpectedly, having already featured in Thor: Ragnarok.
What Else Did Deadpool 3 Trailer Reveal?
Beyond the TVA connection inviting Loki theories, the trailer confirmed Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will join Deadpool’s universe-hopping adventure.
Plot details remain mostly under wraps, but theories suggest the film could loosely adapt Deadpool’s iconic “Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe” comic run. With Mobius and the TVA potentially pursuing Wade through alternate timelines as he wages bloody chaos.
Deadpool 3 finally locked in a July 26, 2024 release date after pandemic-related delays, as well as production halts from the recent industry strikes. The threequel will be the first R-rated installment in the MCU. And despite Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, creative leads promise Deadpool 3 won’t dial back its signature tone or violence.
So while Tom Hiddleston plays coy on reprising Loki, fans await final confirmation. And if the God of Mischief does join the chaos, Loki and Deadpool’s combined hijinks promise Disney’s raunchiest Marvel outing yet.
Deadpool likely won’t take kindly to Loki intervening in his universe-hopping exploits. And Loki rarely backs down from a challenge or confrontation. So these inherently chaotic characters could either join forces in unexpected ways or clash dramatically over storyline control.
Either way, Loki representing the MCU authorities that recruit Deadpool opens rich narrative potential. The morally gray God of Mischief might alternately aid Deadpool’s mission and thwart the antihero’s more violent tendencies. And Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine could even weigh in, allying with Loki to temper Deadpool’s lunacy. Their philosophical differences, or alignment, could anchor Deadpool 3’s entire trajectory.
