Tom Hiddleston has portrayed the iconic character of the God of Mischief in the MCU for over a decade and the character’s journey seemingly concluded in the second season of the Disney+ series Loki. However, there are still speculations about his return in a potential third season of the show or the future projects in the franchise, such as The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
Adding to the anticipation, the VFX supervisor of the Disney+ series, Kevin Yuille, hinted at the possibility of another season as he expressed his desire to return to the series, in a recent interview with MovieWeb.
Tom Hiddleston Could Potentially Return in Loki Season 3
Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Season 2 saw his character undergo a remarkable transformation, transcending his former self to become a powerful force for order in the cinematic universe. However, the pivotal end of the show has left fans questioning if there is more to his story.
The VFX supervisor of the Disney+ series, Kevin Yuille has ignited hope for a potential third season of the show, as he expressed his enthusiasm to work on one more season. “I would love to work on another season of Loki,” he told MovieWeb in a recent interview as he shared his experience working on the series.
“Season 2 was one of the best experiences ever,” Yuille said before adding, “It would be amazing to work again with the same crews, both internally and at Marvel.” Although the studio has not confirmed a potential third season of Loki as of yet, the series will continue to reverberate across the MCU.
The series introduced several elements of TVA technologies, including Time Stick Deletion, Time-Slipping, Time Doors, and other variations. According to Kevin Yuille, “It’s plausible that any of these elements could find their way into other MCU projects.” Yuille’s enthusiasm for another season suggests avenues for Hiddleston’s comeback as Loki in the MCU.
Loki Producer Expressed His Wish to Continue the Disney+ Series
Along with the VFX supervisor, Loki producer Kevin Wright has also discussed the potential for the popular Disney+ series to continue beyond its second season. During an interview with TVLine, Wright shared that he loved working with the production team of the Disney+ series.
He further shared that although he “would love to keep telling those stories,” he doesn’t “want to rush into a Season 3” without a good story. He also suggested the possibility of continuing the story in a potential spin-off, referencing Breaking Bad’s spin-off series Better Call Saul. He shared,
“Maybe there’s something we can continue to do at the TVA, and it’s like our ‘Better Call Saul’ to ‘Loki’s’ ‘Breaking Bad.’ That would be cool, to me.”
Kevin Wright expressed his confidence that the success of the series would continue to generate interest to follow up on its characters. Although there are no official updates about Tom Hiddleston’s return to the MCU, anticipation surrounding his potential return in future projects is high, with fans expecting to see him as Loki in the upcoming Avengers movies.
