Jack Whitehall just became a dad, over two months ago and so far seems to be having a ‘wonderful’ time. He welcomed his daughter, Elsie with his girlfriend and model Roxy Horner early in September. Ever since then, the duo has been sharing and updating their fans about how their parenting life has been going so far.
Recently Hornor posted a picture of her and Whitehall on Instagram, with the new-dad holding their baby’s umbilical cord. She added how the comedian found it disgusting and wanted to throw it away. Luckily they reached a compromise in a house plant.
Jack Whitehall Found This One Thing About His Newborn Daughter Disgusting
While becoming a parent for the first time can be quite an overwhelming and heartwarming feeling, things like changing an endless amount of dirty diapers can be extremely disgusting. But for Jack Whitehall, it wasn’t things like nappies that he found weird but rather his newborn daughter’s umbilical cord.
The comedian and actor recently welcomed his daughter, Elsie with partner Roxy Horner. And the two love to share little snippets of their parenting life on social media. In a story posted on her Instagram account, Horner shared a photo of her and boyfriend Whitehall holding their daughter’s umbilical cord in his hand and making a clearly disgruntled face.
She wrote in the caption,
“Jack wanted to throw away baby’s umbilical cord and I wanted to keep it so we compromised and planted it in one our house plants.”
And so instead of throwing it away, the duo reached a pretty interesting compromise by planting it in one of their house plants. While fans loved their amusing compromise, this isn’t the only compromise they had to reach. Just days before, the actor made an appearance on The Graham Norton Show and shared an interesting story of how they ended up with their daughter’s name.
How Jack Whitehall And Roxy Horner Named Their Daughter
Jack Whitehall recently appeared on The Graham Norton Show after becoming a first-time dad. The celebrated comedian was asked what went behind naming their daughter Elsie and whether it had been tough choosing a name.
“To be fair it was a little bit of a battle.”
And then he went on to reveal an interesting anecdote of how they had a ‘battle’ on one of the names his girlfriend suggested and what they discovered afterward.
“I basically had a month before the baby arrived where there was a lot of me trying to spike inappropriate name suggestions of Roxy’s… She came into the bedroom and she was like ‘Okay, I was thinking if it’s a girl, Pheonix.’ I was thinking ‘Over my dead body’.”
Whitehall thought that Phoenix sounded more like a stripper name. So they went searching for it in the books and on the internet. But what they found was what can only be called a hilarious coincidence.
“I’m on Google typing in Top 10 stripper names. There is a website with the Tom 10 stripper names, and to be fair to her Phoenix was not on it. Do you know what number one was? Roxy.”
Well, what happened afterward we do not know but we know for sure that they ended up with a safe choice with ‘Elsie’.
