The Jackbox Party Pack became a quick success and has brought laughs to gamers around the world. It was an especially essential tool for loved ones to stay connected during the COVID-19 pandemic, which gave many an even greater appreciation for the company.

Now, after nearly a decade of party packs and even more time as a developer, Jackbox Games is introducing the 10th installment in the party pack series. Although some might be concerned the creativity for these titles is wearing down, they can rest assured in knowing there are still plenty of fresh ideas in store.

FandomWire had the opportunity to preview The Jackbox Party Pack 10 and hear from the developers who worked to release this new lineup of game modes.

Dodo Re Mi Is Going to Be the Standout for Jackbox Party Pack 10

The game mode that requires immediate recognition is the one that is the most ambitious, Dodo Re Mi. In this musical collaboration, players will work together as an assortment of birds to take on a carnivorous plant.

Each person will have the opportunity to select an instrument, which they will hear come out of the speaker on their phone. They will also have the chance to select a song, which includes Jackbox beats, public domain music, and original tracks.

Gamers can play as many songs as they want, and when finished, they will get a rendered version of the their music through the controller.

The director of Dodo Re Mi, Brooke Breit, explained that this game mode is not only ambitious, but very personal to the development team. When it comes to the sounds you can select, a few team members brought in their own pets to grab audio for the instruments.

The team was also aided by Central Michigan University students, who recorded the actual instruments for the game. Nevertheless, it sounds like the fan favorite instrument is sure to be the gargling noise, which you will just have to hear to believe.

Timejinx Will Take You On a Trivia Trip Across History

The next game that will certainly bring a lot of fun to trivia fanatics is Timejinx. This game mode, which was directed by Spencer Ham, will launch you through history and make you guess the year in which certain events took place.

The closer you are to the correct year, the fewer points you will add to your total. The player with the fewest number points by the end of the game will win. However, do not expect to get out so easily, the last question will bring you a whole new challenge.

Once players reach the final round, they will be sent on a mission to the future to answer a question about an event that has not yet happened. This will certainly throw a few players for a major loop and lead to an exciting conclusion for time travel trivia.

While this game mode may seem in some ways like a typical straight forward trivia challenge, it is set to impress with unique hypotheticals and time traveling troupes.

Hypnotorious Gives Your Brain An Out of Body Experience

Hypnotorious, as you might expect, is a game where you are tricked into believing you are someone other than yourself. This new Jackbox mode is all about trying to figure out who you are and match yourself with other players who are similar.

The goal is to try to match with others without giving away your identity. Although this might seem like a very simple concept, game director, Warren Arnold, has explained not all groupings will be as obvious as players might expect.

Lastly, to throw a wrench in the plans of those trying to make a quick discovery, one of the players will not fit into any of the groups. This person is called The Outlier. No one, not even The Outlier, knows the truth.

So, gamers will also be working to identify the one who does not belong in the group. Those who do make the proper identification will be in for a major point payout.

FixyText Is Chaotic Fun That Brings Energetic Gameplay

The next title that was exhibited by Jackbox Games is FixyText, which is sure to be the most energy fueled game mode. Players are thrown into a group chat and given a message for immediate response. The twist? Every group member is typing at the exact same time.

While one group types out a response message, the other group will vote on which words they find the funniest, darkest, strangest, etc. This is definitely the game that will liven up the party and likely lead to inside jokes with your friends and family. It could also be the closest thing to Quiplash fans will see in this Party Pack.

Alina Constantin, the director of FixyText, elaborated on some of the design choices for this game, saying the team wanted it to have an analog vibe. The print graphic visuals give FixyText its own style that make it completely unique from the rest of The Jackbox Party Pack 10.

It should also be noted that this game will also have a moderation feature for when the answering system becomes too much. This will allow for responses to be reviewed before everyone sees them.

Last, but certainly not least, is Tee K.O 2, the sequel to a massively popular game from The Jackbox Party Pack 3. The purpose of the game is to pick a message genre and then make your own shirt based on the prompt. Gamers will be treated to added garment styles, as well as additional fonts.

Director of Tee K.O. 2, Tim Sniffen, expressed that this game is designed to be fast paced and high energy. Players will also get to chose from a variety of avatars, which are all characters from previous party packs.

This game mode is certainly a love letter to the biggest Jackbox fans and it promises to be quite a fun time.

One of the best parts of Tee K.O. 2 is that players will actually have the option to purchase their designs at the end of play. This will keep the fun going even after you’ve finished your session.

It was mentioned that the team discussed using other clothing items like boxers or pants, but alas, these garments did not make the final cut. Perhaps if the game returns for a Tee K.O. 3, we will see this idea return.

The developers at Jackbox Games are an incredible group of people who seem to love their jobs. These employees have put in the time and thoroughly tested their work.

It was mentioned during the preview that once the shouting starts, the developers know they’re going in the right direction. So, there is no doubt this game is going to be a major hit for the company’s biggest fans.

The Jackbox Party Pack 10 will operate very much like the previous versions, but with even more accessibility. French, Italian, German, Spanish Castilian, Latin American Spanish, and Portuguese (Brazilian) will all be languages available to players.
