James Cameron’s The Terminator after its release received many positive critic reviews and also had a great box office run. Since the movie was released in 1984, the movie was very astonishing to many as they were just introduced to the concept of time-traveling, robot warriors, and world-ending technology. With a mere budget of  $6.4 million, it had a huge box office success as it amassed a total of more than $78 million. Director James Cameron was very happy with his movie and its reach and was very eager to work on its sequel and did something very shocking.

James Cameron was so engrossed in the development and success of the sequel that he spent more than the total budget of the first movie only to make the opening scene of the second. Terminator 2: Judgment Day had a massive budget compared to the first one, with an overall budget of around $100 million it boomed at the box office as it collected a bit over $520 million after its release worldwide in 1991 making it the third highest grossing movie at that time. It was also the most successful Terminator movie.

All There Is to Know About Terminator 2: Judgement Day

The most interesting fact about Terminator 2: Judgement Day is that in its opening scene, the scene follows a nuclear explosion that brings about an apocalypse. The city that was shown getting destroyed was the City of Angels, Los Angeles, and the production team made a complete miniature version of the city using cornflakes, wheat, and many other similar things. After various hit-and-trial experiments, they discovered that shredded wheat was perfect for making an exact copy of the city.
