Swamp Thing in DC comics

After the presentation, a Q&A session was held, where James Gunn revealed how the basic story of Chapter 1 would come to an end. He also commented on how fans believe the DC Universe is like ‘Marvel 2.0’, but it will be totally different from the real world as there are no real cities, and here superheroes exist in those cities. “Movies, in general, are not as good as they used to be because they’re set into a date and they don’t even have a third act until they’re already shooting. We’re going to make writers as important as they are. That is our commitment to this process.”

“I knew there’d be a lot of hitches, a lot of problems, but comic books are in my blood. These characters are in my blood,” said Gunn. “We all know it’s been a fucked up road for many of them over the last few years… [so] it’s a challenge, but there’s a chance to do something really wonderful [here],” he insisted.

“[Yes], the history has been shit [and] it’s been a fucked up journey. They were giving out IP to creatives who smiled at the people in charge, and then the people in charge didn’t even have real power,” admitted Gunn. “We have a lot to prove.”

James Gunn is one of the best filmmakers, who is known for his creative vision, fantastic cinematography, and epic action scenes. In spite of getting a positive reaction from the audience, Warner Bros. felt that their visions differed. And this open statement revealed how much frustrated James Gunn was with Warner Bros. decisions.
