Superman: Legacy’s plot details remain under wraps. Regardless, fans are so keen to forget everything about the underwhelming DC Extended Universe that they seemingly can’t stop talking about James Gunn’s first DCU title, which is still more than a year away from its release.
Up until now, the major talking points concerning the high-profile movie have revolved around its casting, with Gunn raising eyebrows with some bold choices, not least of which is replacing Henry Cavill with David Corenswet.
Now, one of his cast members has given fans of the DC Comics universe another thing to talk about by spilling a big secret.
James Gunn Reacts to Superman: Legacy Star Sharing Secret Detail About David Corenswet’s Movie
Nathan Fillion is set to return to the comic book world for Superman: Legacy. The Canadian-American actor who portrayed Cory Pitzner/T.D.K. in The Suicide Squad is reuniting with James Gunn for the latter’s most ambitious project to date.
Fillion, who has previously voiced Hal Jordan in a number of animated films, has been roped in to portray Guy Gardner in the David Corenswet starrer.
Considering how the last phase of the DCEU ended under Gunn’s leadership, there’s plenty of pressure on the co-CEO of DC Studios to get everything right while shaping Superman: Legacy. This also means controlling what details should be public and what should be kept under wraps during the film’s making. In that regard, it seems Fillion has jumped the gun.
Speaking with ET, The Rookie star has revealed that Gunn is assembling his team in mid-February in Atlanta for a table read.
Soon after, the Guardians of the Galaxy director was asked about his thoughts on the information. But unlike Fillion, Gunn had very little to say.
“Oh Nathan,” the 57-year-old replied on Threads.
Much to Gunn’s relief, Fillion refused to divulge details about the script during the aforementioned interview. Still, he revealed that he’s excited for fans to see his director’s take on Clark Kent’s story.
What Rachel Brosnahan Said About Her Character in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy
Rachel Brosnahan has been added to the cast list for the major role of Lois Lane. The feisty and resolute investigative journalist of the Daily Planet was portrayed by Amy Adams in the DCEU.
Brosnahan, who’s best known for her work in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel recently shed light on her iteration of the character.
“Feisty, dare I say, marvelous, and fiercely intelligent,” Brosnahan told ET. “I’m trying, I’m rolling through my brain all the things I’m not allowed to say. But we’re excited to both put our own spin on things but also honor this material that we all love so much.”
It would certainly be interesting to see how the feisty persona of Lois would gel with the young iteration of Corenswet’s Clark.
