Dwayne Johnson poured his heart and soul for 15 years into creating DC’s anti-hero flick, Black Adam. Apparently, the bridge between Zack Snyder’s DCEU and James Gunn’s DCU, the new co-CEO of DC Studios did not fit Black Adam into his new narrative.

With Black Adam not reaching box office sales as expected, fans are now trolling DCU’s The Flash and Shazam! 2. As per the reports, the combined sales of both movies will be less than what Black Adam earned worldwide, and that’s saying some wrong things about James Gunn’s DCU.

The Flash And Shazam! 2 Earned Less Than Black Adam!

Back when Dwayne Johnson‘s Black Adam was released, fans were left quite disappointed with the movie’s performance on the worldwide level. With 15 years in the making, the movie went on to earn $393 million at the global box office.

But with the failure of Shazam! 2 and the recently released The Flash, it seems that people are more disappointed in the DCU now as ticket sales are at an all-time low. Talking about the profits raking in the millions, DCU’s Shazam! 2 and The Flash failed to beat Black Adam. As per the reports, the box office of both movies combined is still not enough to beat Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam at the global level!

Several fans immediately realized that The Rock did more promotion for his passion project than any of the cast members did for The Flash. After the DC anti-hero’s failure, Dwayne Johnson announced that the character of Black Adam did not fit the narrative of James Gunn’s first phase/chapter of the DCU titled “Gods and Monsters”.

Amidst restorations and reboots, James Gunn recently revealed that he will not be able to make it to SDCC 2023 i.e., this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Although there had been no talks of DC Studio’s appearance, it seems that the new movies and hype-ups that the studios offered at the SDCC would be missing this year.

“I won’t be there this year but probably next.” said James Gunn.

Fans were quite disappointed with Gunn’s announcement and stated that perhaps the director is denying the SDCC because of the ongoing writer’s strike under the WGA. As for The Flash, the Ezra Miller starrer is currently screening in theaters across the world.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam are available to stream on Max.
