DC revamp under James Gunn Peter Safran’s tenure is reportedly moving faster than previously expected. Several projects are already moving towards production including James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy as he shared a production wall of a collage depicting Superman.
A recent rapport indicated that DCU is set to bring several projects and the Universe’s Chapter 2 and 3 will focus on heavy competition against MCU. Perhaps, the best move for the DC as Marvel Studios is seeing the heavy end of a huge blow following their recent big screen releases. As per a recent report, here’s the list of DC’s 10 projects in talks.

10. Wonder Woman
Earlier, Gal Gadot claimed that she has a secure future at DC as Wonder Woman but in contrast, an insider said that there’s no confirmation about that. James Gunn and Peter Safran are building a new DC universe and they have rejected Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman, now Gadot is in question. Gunn may look for another actor for the role for a fresh outlook on the character and match the new casts of DC. But certainly, Wonder Woman has been successful in the past and it would be interesting if Gunn cast a new actor and how the movie would perform.
9. The Atom Movie
For DC, it might be a good idea to introduce more comic book character that has a popular fanbase. Atom is powerful and he’d be an exciting addition to the DC Universe or he might join Justice League in future projects. There is not much information on the project as of yet.
8. Hawkman and Hawkgirl Show
Hawkman and Hawkgirl Show would be another exciting addition to DCU. As the Reddit report suggests, a show based on these characters has been in talks. Hawkgirl is the wife of Hawkman in DC Comics. The original Hawkgirl, Shiera Sanders, is married to Carter Hall, the original Hawkman. Thanagarian Hawkgirl, Shayera Hol is also married to Hawkman, Katar Hol. Isabela Merced will play Hawkgirl in Superman: Legacy, and it’s time for the studio to look for Hawkman. It is unclear which versions of these characters DC is planning to bring on board and production details of the project are also under wraps.
7. Teen Titans Movie
A new Teen Titans Movie movie is reportedly in talks. Teen Titans has been extremely popular and this might be DC’s savior. Now, it is unclear if the studio move ahead with a live-action or animated movie but DC or their parent company Warner Brothers Discovery would want the best out of the project.
6. Etrigan the Demon R-rated Show
DC will certainly look for their own version of a Deadpool-esque character as the MCU character has gained immersive fandom over the year. DC certainly has the right character to do the job and they have plans to bring Etrigan the Demon for a R-rated show. He is a demon from hell, he has superhuman durability, super strength, and enhanced sixth sense. However, he’s not a hardcode DC villain but rather an anti-hero and the show would make perfect sense for DC.
5. Doctor Fate Show
Irish star Pierce Brosnan played Doctor Fate in Black Adam. Although Black Adam could not live up to the expectations of the studio, several characters from the show have made fans curious about their backstory. And DC might do that with a new Doctor Fate Show exploring the backstory of the character.
4. Plastic Man Solo Movie
Plastic Man is another exceptional character in DC comics and the character has full potential to have his solo flick. Plastic Man has a remarkable origin story and his path to becoming a DC hero could be the highlighting factor for the upcoming movie.
3. Doom Patrol Solo Movie
Doom Patrol, the DC superhero team has already made it to the screen. DC’s HBO show ran for four seasons and DC is reportedly bringing a solo movie based on the characters. It is unknown if the studio continues the story from the show or if the cast remains the same.
2. Deathstroke Show
Deathstroke already has a CW show Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons that ran for a season. Deathstroke a.k.a. Slade also appeared in Teen Titans. A new Deathstroke Show might open the corridor for the character for future movie cameos.
1. Deadshot Solo Movie
Will Smith played Deadshot in DC’s Suicide Squad and it has long been speculated that he’s getting a solo movie. However, the project was at a halt for several reasons. But a recent report claimed that a Deadshot Solo Movie is in talks. It is not confirmed if Smith will continue the character or if Gunn look for another star to play the deadliest assassin in the DC Universe.
These 10 projects, however, have not been confirmed by DC but the speculated list has some sort of validity given the studio is in the constant battle to meet up the success of the Marvel Studios. Also, the report confirmed that a Korean Huntress project is in early development for the DCU and Jung Byung-Gil is in talks to write and direct the project. As of yet, it is difficult to predict what’s on Gunn’s mind regarding the cast of these projects but I would definitely want to see Ana de Armas as the new Wonder Woman. Also, DC’s Lobo project is reportedly in the early development, and Aquaman star Jason Momoa has been a perfect contender for the role. It’s quite conflicting as he played Aquaman for years and there has not been any official report of the end of Momoa’s Aquaman with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Regardless, if these projects roll out to production, DC will have a strong slate under their sleeve to bring back the attention of fans.
